What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Attendant position at CEDAR BEND HUMANE SOCIETY?
Let's get real. Working in the kennels department is hard work. You'll spend most of your day scooping poop, washing dishes, and doing laundry.
But in-between those tasks are the moments that make the sweaty, dirty job all worth it. Those moments are when a nervous dog wags their tail at you for the first time, when a cat crawls into your arms and just wants to held, when you get puppy and kitty kisses for giving them yummy food, and so many more.
We are specifically needing kennel attendants for our bright and early morning hours from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It will be roughly 25-30 hours per week with weekend and some holiday shifts required.
Like we mentioned, it is hard work! Kennel attendants must be able to lift 50 pounds (boxes of litter are HEAVY!) and be comfortable working with both dogs and cats. Duties include, but not limited to: feeding animals, cleaning kennels, cleaning litter boxes, laundry, and keeping indoor and outdoor exercise kennels clean. This job can be fast-paced and physically challenging and will include indoor and outdoor work. Individuals should be self-motivated and dependable.
Apply today to help us with the dirty work but stay for the homeless pets. We look forward to having you on the team!
