What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Age Early Childhood Teacher position at Cedar Cove Academy?
Foundations Learning Center is an established Early Learning Center with locations throughout Oklahoma. We are looking for an experienced, fun and creative educator for our School Age program.
This position is full-time seasonal, approximately 90 days.
The ideal candidate is passionate, patient, creative, has excellent communication skills and is comfortable interacting with parents and administration.
The School Age (out-of-school-time) teacher will follow all company and licensing requirements and report to the Center Executive Director or the Assistant Director in her absence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Meet the requirements set by Oklahoma Child Care Licensing to be a teacher a minimum of 12 credit hours of Early Childhood Education (ECE) college course work pertaining to infants, toddlers, and/or preschool, school age children is preferred. CDA, CCP or Certificate of Mastery is a plus.
- Minimum of 6 months full-time or one-year part-time experience working with school age children.
- Applicants must be personable, reliable and patient. Positive attendance record at previous employment.
- Recreation background, arts, camp, scouts, coaching, mentoring of young children is desired.
- Proven ability through previous employment or mentorship to work effectively and professionally with children, families, and adults.
- Demonstrated skills in effective communication, both written and oral.
- The ability to retain confidential information in accordance with company policy.
- First Aid and CPR certification or the ability obtain within two (2) weeks of hire date.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teacher/Educator is responsible for the following areas:
- Maintain safety and ensure the welfare of all enrolled children, supervision of children at all times.
- Assist in the maintenance of appropriate standards for early learning environments and assist in maintaining behavior standards using approved methods.
- Day-to-day operation; including maintaining a harmonious and efficient classroom work space. Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, including transportation vehicles.
- Curriculum: planning and implementation such as arts and crafts, group time, science, indoor and outdoor games, and nutrition (in accordance with CACFP).
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with staff members and families.
- Attends all staff meetings, training, and other work-related events within the community and at the site.
- Continues to develop professionally. (20hrs per year required, 30hrs for platinum level PDL)
- Clean driving record. The ability to transport children utilizing company vehicles.
- Able to lift 40lbs
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Mandatory: Must be able to pass background clearance including national wide fingerprint screening.
