Job Summary:
The Operational Assistant will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of our private country club, with a focus on the racquet sports facilities including croquet. This position will assist with various duties, including pro shop operations, game arrangement, member relations, lessons booking, and maintenance of the racquet sports area. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the management and operation of the pro shop, including stocking and displaying merchandise, handling transactions, and ensuring an organized and welcoming environment for members.
- Provide information and guidance to members regarding racquet sports equipment, apparel, and services.
- Maintain inventory and report low stock or product needs to the supervisor.
- Greet and engage members with a high level of professionalism and courtesy, ensuring a positive and friendly experience.
- Respond to member inquiries regarding racquet sports schedules, lessons, and facility usage.
- Assist in resolving any member concerns or issues related to the racquet sports area.
- Coordinate and schedule games for members, ensuring proper match-ups and smooth operation of the courts.
- Organize and oversee informal and formal play events, including social games, tournaments, and clinics.
- Schedule and confirm private and group lessons with the club's racquet sports instructors.
- Maintain a record of lessons and ensure all necessary materials and equipment are available for lessons.
- Assist in the general maintenance and upkeep of the racquet sports area, ensuring that the courts, equipment, and surrounding areas are in top condition.
- Report any facility issues or maintenance needs to the athletic director.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in business or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in customer service or operational role, preferably within a private club or sports facility.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with members and team members.
- Knowledge of racquet sports (e.g., tennis, pickleball, etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient in basic computer systems and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, point-of-sale systems, scheduling tools).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing equipment, and assisting with the maintenance of facilities.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
Benefits:
· Seasonal full-time April – October
· $ 20 per hour/40 hours a week (depending on years of experience)
