BASIC FUNCTION

• Provide oversight of all district activities.
• Assume all duties and responsibilities of the principal in their absence.
• Perform duties and responsibilities as assigned by the principal in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Work collaboratively with district administrators, building principals, and staff toward a shared vision.
• Promote a positive climate for learning.
• Perform management responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Supervising students.
  • Maintaining a safe and orderly school environment.
  • Implementing discipline procedures.
  • Representing the building on district-wide committees.

7-12 ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Schedule all 7-12 athletic events, including transportation.
• Contract officials for 7-12 athletic events.
• Develop and oversee the budget for all 7-12 athletic programs.
• Purchase and maintain all 7-12 athletic equipment and supplies.
• Coordinate the hiring, supervision, and evaluation of 7-12 athletic coaches.
• Manage the scheduling of facilities for athletics and activities.
• Creating and maintaining District, State, and Federal reports.

ADMINISTRATIVE & OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide administrative and technical assistance to the principal, including operational responsibility for the physical facility.
• Communicate with parents and staff in a timely, professional manner.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Licenses, Certifications, and Testing Requirements:

• Master’s degree
• Iowa Administrator License
• Experience Preferred
