Position Overview:
The Photographer Assistant will assist in organizing, editing, retouching, and enhancing product images for Cedar & Hyde’s website and marketing materials. You will work closely with our Creative Director and eCommerce team to ensure the final visuals meet brand standards and creative guidelines. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their experience in photo editing and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, creative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Edit and retouch photos to meet high-quality standards, ensuring proper color correction, lighting adjustments, and overall image enhancement.
- Prepare images for various platforms, including web, social media, print, and marketing materials.
- Assist in organizing and managing digital assets (photos, files, etc.) within the company’s asset management system.
- Collaborate with the creative team to understand project requirements and deliver the necessary photo edits on time.
- Follow established guidelines for image quality and brand consistency.
- Support the creative team with editing tasks and other creative projects as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of photography editing trends, software, and best practices.
- Ensure all deliverables are completed according to project deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of photo editing principles, including color correction, retouching, and compositing.
- Strong attention to detail and a good eye for visual composition.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A creative mindset with a passion for visual storytelling.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
- Ability to take constructive feedback and adapt to changing project requirements.
- A portfolio or sample of photo editing is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Capture One and Adobe Photoshop preferred.
- Experience with video editing (Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro) is a bonus.
- Familiarity with image file formats and optimization for web and print is required.
- Basic understanding of camera handling and studio lighting is a bonus, but not required.
