What you'll do:
The Programming Aide serves as a substitute and aide to the Classroom Managers, assistant to the Director of Programming and Community Services, and acts as Direct Support Professional as needs dictate. They function as a member of the Programming staff and a member of the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Assist Classroom Managers with the implementation of activities, provide supervision in the absence of Direct Support Professionals, and other tasks as needed to ensure the class runs effectively.
- Act as a Classroom Manager substitute in their absence by performing tasks according to their job description, including but not limited to, offering activities, implementing goals, documenting, and providing direct support to individuals.
- Act as a Direct Support Professional by engaging in activities with the individuals, providing support, implementing guidelines, documenting, toileting, and transferring when a Direct Support Professional is on break or absent.
- Assist in the development and distribution of the Direct Support Professional classroom assessment schedule, as needed. Ensuring there is accurate coverage for classrooms to operate according to levels of supervision.
- Assist Activities Coordinators and Community Integration Manager on outings.
- Collaborate with the Programming department on the development and implementation of events.
- Ensure Classroom Managers have current guidelines and goal sheets.
- Weekly, submit Direct Support Professional break logs to their supervisor.
- Provide Programming orientation to new hires.
- Ensure that current classroom schedules are available in designated locations.
- Conduct monthly summary audits for the Director of Programming and Community Services.
- Attend and participate in weekly pre-annual meetings.
- Attend and participate in annual and Interdisciplinary Team meetings, as needed
- Follow facility and individual guidelines, procedures, and policies.
- Comply with all applicable regulations.
- Perform all other related work as assigned.
