Job Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the Fire Chief, Fire Captain and in compliance with Utah law, District Policies and Procedures and Standard Operating Guidelines, this position protects life and property by performing firefighting, rescue operations, emergency medical care, hazardous condition mitigation, public relations and fire prevention duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Ability to act effectively in emergency and stressful situations.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with the public, other agencies and Cedar Mountain Fire Protection District full time; part time employees; and volunteers.
- Must meet the Districts minimum physical agility and health requirements annually.
- Performs general maintenance work for the upkeep of the fire station facilities and grounds.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires valid Utah Driver’s License
- Required to have current EMT, AEMT or Paramedic certification.
WORK HOURS:
- Sign up for a minimum of 1 shift per month is required.
- Shifts are typically 24 hours long from 0900 to 0900. Some 12 hour shifts may be available during certain times of the year.
- This position is an At-Will position and will be maintained by this employee based on their work ethic, professionalism, and productivity.
- This position will be in a probationary status for 1 year.
