Cedar Park Med is seeking experienced and dedicated Pharmacy Technicians for immediate placement. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to patient care and pharmacy operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Fill unit dose carts and prepare IV admixtures.
- Answer and screen telephone calls for pharmacists.
- Review medication orders from nursing units and direct drug orders to pharmacists.
- Fill orders for IV sets, solutions, toiletries, and food supplies.
- Deliver pharmaceuticals to nursing units.
- Replenish and charge for ward stock items.
- Restock pharmacy dispensing areas and organize supplies for pharmacist compounding.
- Repackage bulk pharmaceutical supplies.
- Maintain and clean pharmacy equipment.
- Perform light housekeeping as needed to maintain a clean work environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six months of experience assisting in the filling of medical prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Experience may be substituted with:
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) OR
- Diploma from an ASHP-accredited pharmacy technician training program.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical inventory management, storage, and distribution practices.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Physical ability to bend, lift, climb, stoop, and kneel as required.
- Must pass a pre-employment health clearance.
