What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at Cedar Point Club?
Cedar Point Club lifeguards ensure the safety of our members at the Aquatic Center. Our lifeguards will explain safety rules to patrons, warn them about unsafe situations, and enforce policies on showers and proper attire. Lifeguards play an instrumental role in maintaining orderliness by inspecting swimming pool areas, locker rooms and restrooms. Our lifeguards maintain pool equipment, monitor and record pool chemistry readings.
Essential Duties
Oversee activities at Aquatic Center
Explain, enforce rules and regulations to keep members safe
Monitor and recognize signs of danger
Warn swimmers of unsafe behavior and situations
Responsible for responding to aquatic emergencies and rescuing swimmers if needed
Greet and direct members, guests, and clients upon arrival and check them in
Perform 1st aid and CPR duties
Maintain swim tests and chemical readings
Maintain cleanliness of locker rooms, restrooms, pool deck and water
Skills
15 years of age or older and physically fit, strong, agile and dexterous.
Completion and up to date lifeguard, CPR, first aid (Red Cross or YMCA accepted)
Available weekends and evenings as well
Willing and able to adapt to changing environment
Customer service oriented
Able to be effective within a team environment
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. to waist height
Must be able to swim 300 meters and perform rescues
Frequent bending, turning, kneeling and stooping may be required
Compensation: Hourly rate commensurate with experience
