- Locations: Roosevelt ,McKinley, Erskine, Kenwood, Truman, Maple Grove, West Willow, Viola Gibson, Taylor, Jefferson, Wilson
HOURS:
- Various
DATES:
- Ranges from: June - August
- Varies based on program type and location
COMPENSATION:
- $17.00/Hr
- Hours may vary depending on participation
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Supervise and participate in the preparation and serving of good quality food
- Supervise the security, storage, and proper handling of food and supplies
- Enforce and maintain standards of cleanliness, health, employee practices, and safety in the kitchen.
- Cook and bake meals according to standardized menus & recipes
- Responsible for assuring that all equipment is safe, clean and in good working condition.
- Report equipment breakdowns according to procedures.
- Determine necessary quantities for food and supplies, submits orders on time.
- Plan daily work schedules, when supervising instruct employees in performing assigned task
- Complete/oversee employee payroll and other personnel records, as requested
- Evaluate performance of cafeteria employees, as needed
- Serve as the on-site Food and Nutrition resource for the principal, faculty members, parents and students. Positively represents the Department and District
- Confer with the Food Service Manager/Supervisor regarding any personnel problems and implement suggested ways to resolve/manage.
- Maintain open, positive communication with all people served by the food service department
- Participate in meetings, in-services, and training, including computer training as requested
- Process and complete all necessary paperwork or reports. Maintain accurate records and submit requested reports to central office.
- Available to work flexible hours. Other duties as may be assigned
PREPARATION,EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:
- Must possess positive leadership traits
- Ability to work independently.
- Maintains a positive attitude.
- Ability to manage/lead people, mentor new employees, successfully uses problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of school food service program, nutritional standards, and sanitation.
- Knowledge of meal pattern requirements
- Accurate and detail oriented in processing paperwork.
- Possess strong communication skills, customer service
- Basic computer skills required
- Demonstrates professional conduct and confidentiality at all times.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
