Summary of Position:
The Banquet Captain provides leadership and direction to staff with exceptional attention to detail and guest services. Work in congruence with Cedar Rapids Country Club’s Banquet Manager to oversee the setup and cleanup of Banquets and Club Events, ensure exceptional service throughout the event, and anticipate all requests in a professional manner.
Job Description
- Work directly with Banquet Manager and ensure their instructions are followed.
- Attend weekly BEO meetings and discuss plan of action for events.
- Attend internal meetings to assist with notetaking as needed.
- Exercise strong knowledge of the facility and specific event expectations.
- Supervise banquet staff in the completion of the assigned setup and breakdown of events, as well as oversee the entire service of Banquets and Club Events in a safe and professional manner.
- Provide clear instructions to other banquet team members. Provide full support to the member/event host on the day of the event.
- Have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of banquet menus and dining styles.
- Prepare and communicate all consumption tickets and give them to the Banquet Manager for final invoices.
- Other duties as assigned by Banquet Manager.

Compensation & Incentives
- $15 per hour
- 20-40 hours per week. (Nights, Weekends, Holidays)
- Seasonal Position - Summer
