Community Intern

The Cedar Rapids Kernels are a Single-A baseball team affiliated with the Minnesota Twins. The Kernels are seeking an intern to help with community outreach events including mascot and player appearances. The Community Intern will help plan and coordinate events throughout the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City area. Duties will include but not be limited to the following: 

·        Willing to dress and preform as our mascot on occasion

·        Coordinate player appearances with the team and coaching staff

·        Confidante speaking in public to groups of all ages 

·        Be able to pass a driving background 

·        Help set up and coordinate theme nights 

·        Able to capture photo/video content 

·        Working knowledge of Microsoft applications 

·        Able to communicate effectively by phone and email 

·        Help put the tarp on and off the field 

The Community Intern will also get a behind the scenes look on gameday operations and set up including but not limited to:

·        Press box operations/staffing 

·        Daily set up and cleaning of the stadium 

·        Clubhouse Operations 

·        Set up for extra events held at the stadium
