Job Summary:

The Health, Safety & Environmental Manager directs all safety, health, environmental and security activities ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, standards, codes, and Company policies on site. The HSE Manager works proactively to minimize and eliminate workplace health and safety risks and hazards, ensuring a safe environment where employees work safely and are provided adequate training to perform their job duties. Additionally, the HSE Manager makes recommendations to management regarding program implementation and improvements and works with the facility management team to ensure the facilities safety and environmental goals are met.

Job Responsibilities:

· Improves the quality of and ensures the effective execution of safety management processes following established regulations, policies, standards and best practices.

· Directs and is actively involved in a proactive safety program for all Cedar’s facilities.

· Contributes and engages in the development, maintenance and reporting of Wastewater, Solid Waste, Hazardous Waste, Universal Waste, Used Oil, and Storm Water programs.

· Educates, trains, and provides support to operations in the development and execution of consistent safety management programs.

· Supports the partnership with risk management (operations) to identify trends and opportunities for improvements in tools, training or processes.

· Directs accident investigation programs, monitors accident trends and processes, and develops programs for improving performance.

Educational and Certification Requirements:

· BS in Occupational Health and Safety or related field; or equivalent combination of training and education with five plus years related work experience in industrial health and safety, and environmental compliance in a manufacturing environment, preferably food industry

· Completion of the OSHA 511 and 501

· Professional certification preferred (ASP, CSP)

Skills, Knowledge, Attributes

· Possess and extensive working knowledge of regulatory requirements for federal and state programs, processes and program implementation strategies.

· Possess ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations.

· Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills to evaluate performance metrics and outcomes.

· Ability to develop, conduct, and maintain training programs

· Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.

· Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

· Skilled in organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.

· Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines. Establish and maintain effective relationships with Managers, Supervisors and employees.

· Ability to select, coach, develop, engage and retain a team of employees.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

· Ability to be on call or work schedule according to business needs

· Experience working with local regulatory agencies

· Ability to thrive in fast paced environment

· Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
