We are immediately hiring a passionate and caring Childcare Aide to join our team! If you have a love for working with children and are looking for a meaningful role, we want YOU!
This full-time position is Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and starts as soon as possible. It’s a temporary role lasting through April 22nd, with the potential for a permanent offer based on an evaluation of the school's needs after that date.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and an understanding of early childhood education principles. This role involves nurturing and educating children in a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. The Childcare Aide will primarlily be responsible for supporting the Pre-K classroom, while also being assigned to other classrroms as needed, implementing classroom support strategies and educational activities under the guidance of the Lead Instructor.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and nurturing care to children in a safe environment.
- Oversee activities that promote learning and development.
- Manage behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Assist with daily routines, including diapering and nap times for toddlers and young preschoolers.
- Maintain a safe, stimulating, and clean environment that encourages curiosity and exploration among preschoolers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of play areas, toys, equipment, and overall environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in childcare or related fields such as nannying or caregiving is preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles is a plus.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively using appropriate techniques.
- Experience in toddler care, infant care, or working with preschool-aged children is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to interact with children, parents, and team members effectively.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children are essential traits.
- DCYF backround check or willingness to obtain is required; DCYF trainings such as First Aid/CPR certification, BBP, STARS (etc) is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is required.
