About the Position: The Military Business Development Representative provides sales, marketing, and customer service activities within the Marketing Department. The Military Business Development Representative participates in the account management system, assessing the needs of the customer in order to develop and maintain a long-term referral relationship which will generate a continuous flow of admissions to meet hospital census objectives. He/she plans events, provides tours, performs referral source in-services, acts as a liaison between the Referral Source and the hospital, and seeks out new business development opportunities for the hospital. MBDR will be measured on territory/admission goals, associated activity, and updates on competitive environment with a critical evaluation for potential growth areas. Frequent travel to various agencies and facilities within and outside of the community. Must be able to work some evening and weekends. Looking for a self-starter with ability to work independently and with excellent time management skills. Background in behavioral health or therapy services is plus, but not required. Looking for someone willing to give presentations on various clinical strategies/insights. Frequent travel out of the area - The first year with require 80% of time traveling. Most of the travel will be out of state, for the first year and thereafter.
Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill in provision of services to a varied population including children, adolescents, adults, older adults and dually diagnosed patients in an inpatient and partial hospital setting. Must have a bachelors degree and would prefer major to be in the following areas: Marketing, Communications, Social Services or related field with three to five years experience in a marketing position. Any equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be accepted. Previous/current military experience is required.
