Licensed Practical Nurse
Position:
Provide prescribed medical treatments and personal care to students with disabilities pursuant to a written health care plan.
Qualification:
- Licensed from the State to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Observe students on a regular basis to detect health needs
- Administer medication and treatment prescribed by physicians, including tracheostomy maintenance
- Assemble and use such equipment as catheters, tracheostomy tubes, and oxygen suppliers
- Sterilize equipment and supplies
- Administer first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures
- Attend clinical meetings on behalf of students to help plan treatments needed at school
- Assist school personnel in maintaining sanitary standards in schools
- Use various software packages for communication and documentation purposes
- Implement, model and train others in the use of universal precautions
- Maintain regular consistent attendance and punctuality
- Adhere to district health and safety procedures
- Adhere to Board Policies
- Maintain confidentiality
- Previous experience working children with disabilities
- Genuine enthusiasm, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- An ability to work on and be a contributor to a highly professional team
- Evidence of high standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity in personal and professional matters
- Possess high levels of flexibility
- Other duties may be assigned
Reports to: Assistant Superintendent for Student Services and RN
Start Date: Immediately
Rate of Pay:
POSITION DETAILS:
- Full-time (school year) for the 2022/23 school year and beyond
- Hours: 32 -40 hours per week (school day schedule)
- Pay: $19.51 - $24.32 per hour
- Benefits: Single Subscriber health insurance or cash in lieu
- Physical Setting - School Building/School Bus
- Schedule - 8 hour shift
- Work Location - One assigned location with flexibility to support

Cedar Springs Public Schools is a Preschool through 12th-grade public school consisting of over 3,500 students and nearly 400 employees. We are located within the city limits of Cedar Springs, Michigan in Kent County. Cedar Springs Public Schools is one of 20 member public school districts within the Kent Intermediate School District (KISD).
