Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate part time Assistant Director/ part time Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have experience in preschool or daycare settings and a strong commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for all children. This role involves working with Director to ensure all aspects of running the center are completed according to Director/Board specifications. Supporting lead teachers in implementing curriculum, engaging with students, and ensuring the well-being of children, including those with special needs such as autism and other disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist Director as requested, with operating center, scheduling, directing staff, paperwork and other duties as assigned.
- Assist lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
- Provide support in the classroom by helping to manage daily routines and transitions.
- Engage with children during playtime, encouraging social interaction and skill development.
- Foster an inclusive environment by working effectively with children with disabilities, including autism.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom/center/office environment.
- Support curriculum development by contributing ideas that enhance educational experiences.
- Communicate effectively with director/lead teacher about their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to improve teaching skills.
- This position will be separated into 2 parts, assistant director and Assistant Teacher. With both jobs combined this will be a full time position.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in preschool or daycare settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies for working with children with disabilities.
- Ability to work well with Director to achieve a common goal
- Flexible schedule
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A compassionate approach to educating young children, fostering a love for learning.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
