Residential Assistant

***$500.00 SIGN-ON BONUS***

CVS Owatonna is hiring full-time and part-time residential assistants. Need to be available to work variety of hours/shifts/days. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK SOME NIGHTS AND SOME WEEKENDS.

Essential Functions:

• Assists persons served in performing independent living responsibilities such as, but not limited to, routine housekeeping and rudimentary maintenance, meal planning and preparation, financial management, clothing maintenance and dressing skills, leisure activities, community involvement, etc., as needed and/or per established routine and schedules.
• Trains and assists persons served in practicing personal and community safety such as fire prevention and escape, mobility, and environmental protection including monitoring potentially self-injurious behaviors.
• Transports and/or assists with transportation of persons served to and from facility as needed.
• Demonstrates and uses various training techniques and assists with implementation of behavior management programs.
• Cooperates as a member of the residential team in working with other staff, persons served, and neighbors.
• Actively participates in self-development through meeting and training opportunities and study as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to effectively communicate and deal with the public
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to provide physical intervention and physical care for persons who have mobility limitations and/or aggressive behaviors
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
• Displays good judgment, professionalism and confidentiality
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task

High School diploma/GED and experience preferred. Must have valid driver’s license and vehicle with acceptable driving record. Background check required. EXCELLENT BENEFITS FOR BOTH FULL AND PART TIME.
