Job Title: Plumber (Full-time)
Location: Allentown (Operated by County of Lehigh)
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Plumber. This role is crucial in maintaining the functionality of our plumbing systems and ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.
Compensation
- Base Pay: $23.97/hour
- Weekend Differential: $2.00/h extra on weekends
- Full-time Position with holiday and weekend rotation
- Thorough knowledge of plumbing principles, practices, methods and techniques commonly employed in the repair, alteration and installation of plumbing fixtures and systems.
- Thorough knowledge of the tools, substances, and safety precautions of the plumbing trade.
- Knowledge of principles and practices addressed by, and general provisions of, plumbing, environmental, safety and other code requirements.
- Skill in the use and maintenance of plumbing tools and materials.
- Ability to learn the specific codes and regulatory provisions governing plumbing work in the County.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans and sketches.
- Ability to determine time, materials and equipment required to complete assigned jobs.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to keep records of activities.
- Ability to lift, carry and maneuver into position: pipes, joints, and other such heavy and/or unwieldy fixtures.
- Ability to work in close proximity to nursing facility patients, families and visitors, if required by work assignment.
- Must have full use of hands, ability to stand for extensive periods, bend, pull, push and lift a minimum of 40 pounds
Acceptable Training & Experience:
- Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth school grade.
- Three to four years plumbing work, one year which shall have been at the journeyman level.
- Or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience which has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities cited above.
