Cedarbrook Senior Care & Rehab is seeking a Part-Time/PRN Groundskeeper for our Allentown location.
- Part-time/PRN- 32 hours biweekly pay
- Dayshift 7a-3p
This is skilled maintenance and repair work, performing general maintenance & effecting repairs to machinery/lawn equipment. Work includes operation of motor vehicles & power equipment/lawn equipment. A position in this class performs a variety of light and heavy manual laboring tasks in the care and maintenance of lawns at Cedarbrook
Typical Examples of Work:
- Operates hand power, riding and/or roto mowers to cut lawns and open areas, and trim grass around trees, fences, and structures.
- Uses hand and light power-equipment to trim and prune trees and shrubs.
- Services power equipment by changing oil, lubricating and adjusting as necessary; maintains hand tools by cleaning, drying and storing properly.
- Mulching, Edging, Upkeep on Flower beds.
- Performs other work as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of methods, techniques, materials and equipment used in grounds maintenance work.
- Basic knowledge of power lawn-equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to learn to make minor maintenance repairs on tools.
- Ability to work out-of-doors in different climatic conditions for several hours at a time.
- Ability to lift, carry & maneuver into position of variety of heavy and/or unwieldy tools & materials.
- Ability to work in close proximity to nursing facility patients, families & visitors, if required by work assignment.
- Must have full use of hands, ability to stand for extensive periods, bend, pull, push and lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Education equivalent to completion of 12th grade.
- 2-3 years' experience in equipment & facility maintenance or repair work.
- Any equivalent combination of training & experience which has provided the knowledge, skills & abilities cited above.
- possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's licensed issued by the Commonwealth of PA.
