At Cedarbrook Senior Living,
we work hard every day to find out what “Celebrating Life Every Day!” means to
our residents and their families, then we help them achieve these goals.
We are seeking a full-time Line/Prep Cook to provide a "restaurant style" experience for our residents during the afternoon shift.
Responsibilities:
- Performs all aspects
of meal preparation, cooking and presentation.
- Keeps cooking
stations stocked, uses a batch cooking method for all food items with
documented time/temperature logs.
- Follows recipes,
portion controls and presentation specifications as set by the executive chef.
- Restocks all
items as need throughout the shift and completes an order sheet to maintain the appropriate level of supplies and
inventory.
Qualifications:
- Has understanding
and knowledge of how to properly use and maintain all equipment.
- Assists with cleaning, sanitation,
organization of kitchen, coolers, freezers and all storage areas.
- Assists with washing pots and pans along
with dishwasher on other projects.
- Is willing and able to assist with daily
lineup meetings.
- Ability
to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Ability to work in a team environment and
take direction.
- Minimum of 2-3 years
previous cook experience or 3 years of prep cook experience.
- Solid
understanding of professional cooking and knife skills.
- Understanding and
knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
- Professional
communication skills including verbal and listening skills.
- Must be
self-motivated, organized and able to problem solve.
