Cedarhurst of Wentzville, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a Driver at our Cedarhurst of Wentzville community. This position requires an active CDL.
As a Driver, you will have the opportunity to connect with, and positively impact the lives of, our residents daily! You will be responsible for the safe transport of community residents to and from the identified destination while effectively communicating with community leadership to ensure transportation needs are being met.
As a Driver, you will impact the lives of our residents by –
- Driving company vehicle from community area to destination according to assigned schedule.
- Assisting passengers into and out of vehicle.
- Securing passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.
- Operating radio or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service.
- Cleaning and servicing vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
- Meeting all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
- Ensuring effective communication is being utilized by community staff with the residents’ families concerning residents’ care, encompassing their physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing.
- Working well with others and taking direction from management, as well as taking initiative with the capability to engage in conflict intervention and resolution for residents, families, employees, and others as needed.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand / move, communicate, and identify written information.The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift and / or move up to 50 pounds independently; occasionally lift and / or move up to 200 pounds with assistance.
- Must remain flexible and have the ability to work weekends, when necessary
