The Cedarville University Physician Assistant Program in the School of Allied Health and Psychology invites applications for a Principal Faculty appointment. Rank is commensurate with experience.
Under the supervision of the PA Program Director, and in collaboration with program faculty and staff, the faculty member is responsible for day-to-day management of assigned portions of the didactic phase of the PA Program, in accordance with ARC-PA standards, to prepare students for the clinical practice of medicine. The faculty member will also assist with the design, coordination, and evaluation of the curriculum from a global perspective. Principal faculty members are also involved in the selection, instruction, advisement, and evaluation of students across both the didactic and clinical years. Principal faculty participate in program governance and accreditation compliance activities.
This position is subject to the University's verification of credentials and other information required by law and Cedarville University policies, including the successful completion of a criminal history investigation. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. This position is pending budget approval.
Position Requirements:
PA with an appropriate Master's degree or higher from an accredited PA Program
Current NCCPA certification
Possess a current (or eligible to hold and maintain), valid, unrestricted, unqualified license to practice medicine in the state of Ohio
Minimum of 3 years of full-time clinical experience
Prior didactic teaching experience or academic appointment preferred
Experience in the development and/or support of PA programs
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Familiarity with the accreditation process and requirements preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate as a team member
Competence and ability to develop requisite knowledge of computers, technology, and software (or similar products/programs) to perform assigned tasks
Proven leadership abilities, including responsibility and self-motivation
Ability to collaborate with students, staff, and faculty within/out the department
A working knowledge of biblical texts and the ability to appropriately integrate texts into the practice of medicine
