What are the responsibilities and job description for the Faculty: School of Education and Social Work - Assistant Professor of Education - Literacy/Reading position at Cedarville University?
The Cedarville University School of Education and Social Work seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure track eligible Assistant or Associate Professor of Education. A current state teaching license is helpful. This 24-credit load position includes teaching and supervising literacy / reading with additional courses and supervision in upper elementary / middle childhood pedagogy. Applicants must be committed to the biblical integration of faith and education. Additional responsibilities include service to the School of Education and Social Work and fostering collaborative partnerships with local schools.
This position is subject to the University's verification of credentials and other information required by law and Cedarville University policies, including the successful completion of a background check. Application review will begin upon posting and will continue until the position is filled. This position is pending budget approval.
Position Requirements:
Terminal degree in Education with graduate background in literacy or reading. ABD applicants are considered. Applicants without a terminal degree will be considered for Instructor status.
Experience with literacy / reading assessment
A state teaching license / certification.
Upper elementary / middle school teaching experience
Teaching experience in higher education preferred
Commitment to biblical integration of faith and education
A born-again Christian with a personal commitment to Jesus Christ
