Cedarville University invites applications for a part-time Public Services Assistant to provide support for the University’s Centennial Library. This is a non-exempt, 22-hour per week staff position (1170 hours annually).
The Public Services Assistant assists Centennial Library patrons with circulation needs, MediaPlex use, and OhioLINK services. The Public Services Assistant also opens and closes the service desk as needed and delivers basic information and technology assistance including assisting patrons with printing assistance, answering directional questions, providing website guidance and reference assistance, and assisting with borrowing/locating/reserving materials. The Public Services Assistant also assists with the receipt, delivery, and return of OhioLINK items requested by CU patrons. Additional responsibilities include staffing the MediaPLEX service point and providing MediaPLEX services to library patrons. The Public Services Assistant maintains a thorough knowledge of technology, software, and equipment necessary to carry out MediaPlex, OhioLINK, OneSearch, LibAnswers, OhioLINK, Sierra, the library catalog, the library website, and other applicable systems.
This position is subject to the University's verification of credentials and other information required by law and Cedarville University policies, including the successful completion of a criminal history investigation. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
Position Requirements:
Two years of college and/or library experience required. Completion of a Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Familiarity with computer operations and digital systems, as well as the ability to learn new systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.

Excellent work ethic that emphasizes accuracy, close attention to detail, organization, and consistency.
Proven ability to make sound judgments.
Ability to manage a dynamic workload and flexible work priorities.
