Position Summary :
Position requires demonstrated knowledge and skills in planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the maintenance department in accordance regulatory and company standards; maintaining the grounds in a first class condition; safely and properly maintaining facility and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures of the facility; demonstrate effective verbal and written communication in English; be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, push, sweep, lift, and stretch for extended periods; be able to frequently move heavy furniture, boxes and equipment; lift and carry up to 75 pounds . The employee must be able to perform, including but not limited to, these essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation by the employer, without posing a direct threat to himself / herself or to others.
Qualifications of Maintenance Director :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous work experience in a health care setting.
HVAC certification preferred.
Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
Carry out work assignments as directed by Administrator.
Ability to complete painting projects at facility; including surface preparation, trim work, and cleanup.
Perform routine plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and repair work.
Ability to safely operate various lawn, hand, and power tools, including snow blowers, drills, saws, planers, sewer snakes, etc.
Carry out scheduled service as directed in preventative maintenance program.
Perform safety surveillance to monitor potentially unsafe work areas, equipment, and practices.
Report hazardous equipment and conditions to Administrator.
Conduct daily tour of facility to check maintenance request books on each nurses’ station and in kitchen, and perform needed repairs.
Ability to work independently on long-term projects.
Maintain confidentiality of resident records and respect resident rights when performing maintenance work.
Be on call in case of emergency.
