BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position):
Prepares food according to standardized recipes & approved methods per Banquet division, also supervise all team members on assigned shift.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; reports safety issues to Banquet chef or the Executive Chef to ensure safety issues are addressed.
- Responsible for F&B Banquet staffs' execution of guest interaction standards as outlined by Executive Chef and Department handbook.
- Delivery, setup and execution of food for all buffet and serviced events.
- Assume the role as a steward and Main kitchen prep cook when necessary.
- Maintains acceptable levels of Prepared inventory for all scheduled events.
- Cooks food according to recipes and procedures provided, or instructions provided by the Banquet Chef
- Complete and monitor production prep, cleaning, and lists provided.
- Appropriately labels and dates all food product to be stored and delivered.
- Must be crossed Trained as a main kitchen production Cook.
- Keep open lines of Communication with staff and supervisors
- Perform tasks or duties delegated from the Executive Chef / Banquet Chef.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience):
- Minimum six months exposure to commercial kitchen environment preferably in the casino or hotel industry.
- Must be 18 years of age, with GED or HS Diploma.
- Must have valid Oregon Food Handlers permit or the ability to obtain one, and a working knowledge of the regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to follow written instructions.
- Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free work place policies
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT (the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Ability to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as business schedule frequently demands work hours in excess of a standard workweek. While performing duties of this position, employee is required to stand for extended periods, and frequently walk, and use hands to; finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently. Occasionally sit. Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of others appropriately. The casino work environment may expose you to second hand smoke on a regular basis.
