BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position):
Greet, interact and transport guests to and from designated locations in a safe and professional manner.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to supervisor or department management.
- Safely transport guest to and from the casino and designated locations, or as directed, in a safe and friendly manner.
- Conduct pre/post trip inspection on shuttle vehicle, using department form, and report any discrepancies to supervisor.
- Fuel shuttle vehicle.
- Record number of guests transported during shift.
- Remain current on casino events and promote The Mill Casino • Hotel & RV Park's upcoming promotions, events and dining options through verbal and written communication.
- Provide guests with requested information or directions in a professional and helpful manner.
- Respond to guest questions and maintain knowledge of local area and events.
- Assist guests with luggage/baggage for transportation to and from the property.
- Assist guests on and off shuttle.
- Keep exterior and interior of shuttle clean.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience):
- HS Diploma or GED preferred.
- Six months of prior experience working in a hospitality related position required; this can include volunteer work. Transportation experience helpful.
- Must have a valid Oregon driver's license with a minimum of five (5) years of licensed driving experience with an acceptable record and the ability to be insured through CEDCO's insurance program.
- Proven track record of excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free work place policies including testing negative for cannabis/THC.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT (the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations will be considered to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions):
Ability to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as business demands. While performing duties of this position, employee is required to sit for extended periods, and frequently walk, and use hands to; finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on occasion. Work in all environmental conditions including, but not limited to; weather, noise and airborne particles. Ability to sit in driving position for long periods. Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of others appropriately. The casino work environment may expose you to second hand smoke on a regular basis.
