Job Summary:
We are seeking a Industrial Systems Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment and systems to ensure smooth and efficient operations in manufacturing or industrial settings. This role combines technical knowledge with hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, and automation systems. The technician ensures that production processes run smoothly by diagnosing issues, performing regular maintenance, and assisting in system upgrades or installations.
Key Responsibilities:
System Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of industrial machinery, equipment, and control systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to identify problems and implement solutions.
- Ensure all industrial systems, such as HVAC, conveyor belts, production machinery, and robotic systems, are operating efficiently.
Equipment Installation and Setup:
- Assist in the installation and setup of new industrial equipment or systems.
- Ensure that installations meet all safety and operational standards.
- Test and calibrate equipment after installation to ensure it is functioning properly.
Preventive Maintenance:
- Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Perform inspections and routine checks on machinery and control systems to identify potential issues before they result in system failures.
Repairs and Modifications:
- Perform emergency repairs on malfunctioning equipment to minimize production downtime.
- Modify equipment as needed to improve functionality, efficiency, or to accommodate changes in production requirements.
System Optimization:
- Continuously monitor industrial systems and suggest improvements to enhance performance and reduce energy consumption.
- Work with other departments to integrate new technologies or automation solutions to improve production processes.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, including repairs, modifications, and inspections.
- Report equipment malfunctions, needed repairs, and system failures to management.
- Document parts used for repairs and suggest inventory requirements.
Safety Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure that machinery and systems are compliant with industry standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA).
- Assist in maintaining safety equipment and systems, including emergency shutdown systems, fire suppression systems, and safety alarms.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with engineers, production teams, and other technicians to ensure systems run smoothly.
- Participate in training programs for staff on proper equipment usage and safety practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to optimizing production processes.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical support during production issues, working quickly to diagnose and resolve any equipment failures.
- Respond to technical queries from operators or other personnel, offering guidance on equipment operations or maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for system troubleshooting and repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Understanding of safety standards and best practices in industrial maintenance.
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), robotics, sensors, and control systems.
- Ability to work with a wide range of industrial tools and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and management.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to urgent repair needs.
