Cefalu Internal Medicine and Pediatrics is expanding! We are a rapidly growing, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics physician run solo practice in North Port seeking an Certified Medical Assistant who is EXPERIENCED IN PRIMARY CARE. The candidate will rotate between back office (triage and rooming patients, scribing once trained), and monitoring home blood pressures and some time at front desk. The successful candidate will be committed to excellent, compassionate care provided in a team atmosphere. This Medical Assistant will be trained in and rotate through all positions in the officeincluding triage, front desk, in office tests, scribing and ordering, in room assistant, patient phone calls, procedures, balance collection, scheduling appointments, billing, scanning, visit note preparation, monitoring remotely taken blood pressures, etc. Staff retention is excellent, but we have had several go back to school recently and are expanding by adding providers. We treat our patients and staff like family. We have great patients who are very appreciative and continually rave about the quality of the staff! We seek a loyal employee who is willing to work hard and takes pride in and gets satisfaction from a job well done.
Successful candidate:
- Performs the following as part of a rotating schedule: assists physician in various areas such as triage, documentation, scribing in rooms, assisting w biopsies, paperwork, gives injections, performs EKGs, spirometry, in office testing, visit note preparation, front desk etc. Willingness to learn billing a plus.
- Discusses medical concerns with patients and families
- Refills medications when approved by physician
- Anticipates physician’s needs to optimize patient flow
- Performs check in, check out, answers phones, schedules patients, collects balances, works insurance denials and sends insurance referrals
- Must be detail oriented and organized
- Must be loyal and hard working.

- Reports to the physician owner who has the patient’s and your best interest at heart, not a large corporation
- A minimum of 1-2 years experience is preferred
- Criminal, background checks and drug testing
