Job Summary:

As an Automotive Purchasing Specialist, you'll manage supplier relationships, negotiate long-term agreements, and oversee key processes to ensure high-quality, cost-efficient, and timely delivery of production components. This role offers the chance to work closely with suppliers, engineering teams, and industry advancements, making a meaningful impact on EV production strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, evaluate, and improve key performance indicators related to part Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Development (QCDD).
- Select, develop, and manage suppliers for EV production parts, components, and systems by:
- Preparing and issuing Requests for Quotation (RFQ) for multi-year production quantities.
- Negotiating long-term agreements.
- Ensuring competitive pricing.
- Leading annual cost reduction initiatives.
- Overseeing supplier quality and delivery performance.
- Enhance supplier part quality and delivery while mitigating risks.
- Draft action reports and implement effective countermeasures for part quality defects.
- Communicate results of supplier process audits and provide corrective recommendations.
- Develop and execute commodity and supply base strategies.
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve processes.
- Research new EV technologies and apply best practices to purchasing activities.
- Partner with engineering, quality, and suppliers to evaluate part designs for efficiency.
- Plan, track, and manage production supplier information.
- Maintain an up-to-date supply base information database.
- Ensure compliance with Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
- 0-3 years of related experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of automotive component supply chain, quality control, and manufacturing processes
- Experience with OEMs or parts component suppliers is desired.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- SAP experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and reporting skills.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) designation is highly desired, but not required.
Salary : $55,000 - $70,000
