CEG’s client, a leader in providing environmentally sustainable packaging solutions, is seeking a Controller (Cost Accountant) to join their growing team in Summit, Mississippi! As a Controller, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence and financial efficiency within their growing, fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze cost structures, and provide valuable insights that support key business decisions—while helping the company streamline processes and further their sustainability efforts. Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze operational costs and recommend ways to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Prepare budgets and monitor actual expenditures against budgeted figures.
• Perform month-end and year-end closings, including journal entries, reconciliations, and trial balance preparation.
• Manage and continuously improve working capital metrics (DSO, DPO, DIO).
• Maintain the standard cost system, analyze inventory costs, and ensure accurate valuation of inventory.
• Identify and analyze variances between actual and standard costs.
• Prepare detailed reports on cost information to support management decision-making.
• Implement and monitor internal controls related to accounting processes.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure accurate cost data.
• Lead the annual financial statement audit process.
• Supervise local accounting team members handling accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
• Assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA or CMA certification is a plus).
• 3 years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP as it applies to a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Excel and hands-on experience using an integrated ERP system.
• Strong ability to analyze financial data and cost structures.
• High level of accuracy in managing financial information.
• Experience with financial reporting and ERP systems.
• Team player with the ability to work independently.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills based on data analysis.
