What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Specialist position at CEI Staffing?
We are looking for someone to assist in the IT Procurement section of a local government office.
Minimum Education :
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
Minimum Experience / Training :
Two years in professional public or non-profit procurement with complex solicitation contracting management experience.
An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
Essential Functions :
Purchasing of items and services, along with the management of the contracts in place or creation of new contracts
There are also forms that will need to be filled out, documents that will need to be gathered to prepare the procurement packages for approval.
Communicating with the vendors and other agencies will be involved.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of complex public procurement and contracting management with focus on federal and state policies, laws, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent interpersonal skills required to manage relationships within the and among vendors.
Must be effective communicator, both orally and written.
Possess strong diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to perform complex administrative analysis with only general supervision.
Ability to plan and manage own workflow, priorities, and results accomplishment.
Ability to present and disseminate data to various levels.
Ability to remain calm, focused and organized from day-to-day, yet flexible enough to endure possible unexpected, high-pressure situations daily while managing several complex tasks simultaneously.
Ability to interact and effectively communicate with a diverse employee population.
