About the Program
CEISMC Expanded Learning Program K-12 Summer Program provides hands-on, STEAM-focused educational experiences for students across multiple grade levels. Through project-based learning and community engagement, we aim to spark curiosity and equip students with skills for the future. To support these efforts, we are hiring several Summer Program Assistants to join our seasonal team.
This is a full-time, temporary opportunity ideal for K-12 professionals with full summer availability, who are passionate about STEAM education and thrive in dynamic environments.
Position Summary
The Summer Program Assistant provides critical support for the day-to-day operations of summer programs at Georgia Tech. Responsibilities mirror those of an executive or office assistant—requiring strong communication, coordination, and multitasking skills.
We are hiring for two specialized tracks: Program Staff Lead (Horizons GT) and Mobile STEAM Lead (STEAM Programs). Candidates will be matched based on their experience and interest.
Tracks & Responsibilities
Track 1: Program Staff Lead (Horizons GT)
This track supports internal program operations, student experience, and logistical execution for the Horizons at Georgia Tech summer program.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and logistical support to instructional teams
- Assist with daily materials prep and student support
- Track supplies and organize resources for on-site use
- Serve as a liaison between the program Director, program staff, instructors, and families
- Help coordinate field trips, meals, and daily routines
- Maintain records, assist with documentation, and support daily communications
Ideal Candidates:
- Have K-12 education or enrichment program experience
- Possess strong organizational and communication skills
- Are proactive and detail-oriented
- Have experience managing schedules, documents, and supply tracking
Track 2: Mobile STEAM Lead (STEAM Programs)
This track supports ELP STEAM programs, including transportation of materials, setup at multiple program sites, and coordination of program logistics across locations.
Responsibilities:
- Drive large vans or box trucks to transport STEAM supplies and equipment
- Support set-up and breakdown of classroom and event spaces, as needed
- Maintain accurate inventory across multiple sites
- Assist with communication and coordination among partner sites and instructors
- Provide general office administrative support between assignments
Ideal Candidates:
- Have experience in office administration, logistics, or STEAM programming
- Are comfortable driving larger vehicles and managing transport schedules
- Have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Can lift and move items (up to 40 lbs) as part of daily setup
- Are highly reliable, with excellent time management skills
Minimum Qualifications
- Full-time availability from late May through July 2025
- Comfort in fast-paced, student-centered environments
- Strong interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to youth development and STEAM education
- Willingness to undergo background checks and program-required training
