Maintenance & Reliability Manager

This is an onsite, in-person position located at: 3600 Discovery Drive, Chester, VA 23836 (Mylar) Primary Function: Provide oversight and leadership for all Maintenance, Utilities Operations, MRO Storeroom, Maintenance Contractor Management and Equipment Reliability at our Hopewell Site. Responsible for continuous improvement initiatives in safety performance, reliability, cost and capital management, and MRO inventory control. The Maintenance & Reliability Manager leads a team of approximately 11 staff, including maintenance planners, mechanical and electrical engineer techs, controls equipment specialist, utilities operators. Responsibilities: Responsibilities Champion a proactive safety strategy that will drive a “Zero Incident” culture across all of the site’s Maintenance and Utilities functions Coach, counsel, and develop the department’s direct and indirect reports Direct and manage the site maintenance staff to implement best maintenance practices and provide technical expertise to reduce costs and improve process uptime and asset reliability Control maintenance expenditures within budget requirements by monitoring expenditures, adjusting priorities, and forecasting maintenance needs Develop and maintain Reliability plans in line with lost time expectations and cost. Coordinate with engineering group for capital project executions to ensure effective use of capital funds Direct effective planning and scheduling program through the use of benchmarks and parameters Establish and monitor key measures to ensure that a comprehensive and effective maintenance and reliability program is in place and that the Maintenance Excellence Process is practiced Prepare and administer programs, methods, systems, and practices for reducing costs and improving employee and plant efficiency, safety, productivity, and reliability Competencies: Analysis and Judgment; recognizes issues, problems, or opportunities and determines whether action is needed Teamwork/Collaboration; developing and using collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals Managing for Productivity; establishes courses of action for self and others to ensure that work is completed efficiently; prioritizes – identifies more critical and less critical activities and assignments; adjusts priorities when appropriate Innovation; generating innovative solutions in work situations; trying different and novel ways to deal with work problems and opportunities Engagement; demonstrates a willingness to actively commit to one’s work and to invest one’s time, talent, and best efforts to accomplish organizational goals; cooperates with others – works collaboratively with others to establish and maintain positive work relationships; acknowledges others contributions; engages in joint problem solving and idea generation; welcomes new experiences – seeks new learning opportunities; pursues intellectual challenges; enjoys changes in one’s work responsibilities, work processes, or work environment Embracing Change; approaches change or newness positively – treats change and new situations as opportunities for learning or growth; focuses on the beneficial aspects of change; speaks positively about the change to others Qualifications: Knowledge, Experience, and Skills Needed Required Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Preferred types of engineering degrees: Electrical, mechanical, industrial, chemical Minimum of 10 years industrial manufacturing experience with a minimum of five years in a maintenance leadership position Minimum of three years’ experience of maintenance execution (Preferred: within a Process Safety Management environment) Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Prior CMMS integration and improvement program execution. Demonstrated experience in managing turnaround/major PM planning, scheduling, and execution Microsoft Office, and SharePoint Desired Reliability improvement and predictive maintenance experience Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of wage and management personnel Experience with Maintenance Training Program development Experience using SAP for PM (plant maintenance) Fluent in World Class Maintenance (WCM) principles with a proven track record of executing business processes to meet WCM benchmarks
