The Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Reliability Engineer oversees all aspects of the Instrument Mechanical Integrity (MI) program, ensuring that strategic reliability improvements are integrated into plant operations. Focus on fostering continuous improvement and striving for reliability excellence with the goal of achieving 100% reliability. Lead efforts to drive compliance with regulations, standards, and rules, while also championing quality control in maintenance practices and for purchased equipment. Provide technical expertise to ensure the proper design, operation, and maintenance of Safety Instrumented System (SIS).
Responsibilities:
Stewardship
- Ensures compliance with Celanese SEPs, Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEPS), Industry practices, and Governmental regulations
- Ensures vision, program functionality, and expectations are implemented
- Identifies and interpersonally resolves program/equipment gaps
- Ensure safe execution by members of your team
- Support equipment changes (MOC), process reviews (PHA), and failure analysis
- Develops and provides training related to SIS
- Completes internal and external assessment of SIS program execution
- Owner and gatekeeper of all SIS documentation
- Participates or leads RCA investigations for SIS trips and system failures
Quality
- Produces specifications to purchase or repair equipment
- Owns quality repair expectations (shop qualification, hold points, etc.)
Reliability
- Develops large equipment or complex issue scopes
- Leads failure analysis
- Develops projects and reviews equipment purchases
- Leads program specific bad actor analysis and resolution
- Leads program specific reliability investigations for equipment failures, develop improvement plans, and incorporate into reliability strategy
- Develop and implement program specific PM plans, inspection plans, and frequencies
- Eliminates high consequence failures
- Investigate, advocate for, and implement new technologies
- Champion discipline specific strategies to long term capital plan
Engagement
- Builds and executes strategy around reliability system training and knowledge support
- Works with other leadership to evolve equipment performance improvement
- Balances plant needs with long term program development
- Communicates progress, needs, and gaps to partners and stakeholders
- Escalate issues that cannot be solved regarding key activities of (SQRE) Stewardship, Quality, Reliability & Engagement
- Shares and facilitates best practices between units and/or sites
Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred. Will consider experience with instrumentation in lieu of degree.
- 5-15 years experience in petrochemical, refining, or related industrial manufacturing setting supporting maintenance and/or reliability.
- Experience with SAP or CMMS programs a plus
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes, such as API, ISA, & NFPA.
- Proficiency in Safety Instrumented System (SIS) management
