Overview:
WWTP Operator
The WWTP Operator supports a team of 3 other WWTP operators to ensure the main plant’s waste water is treated appropriately and that the grounds for the area are safe and well maintained. They will need to have a strong desire to learn as there are certifications required to become a licensed WWTP Operator. They will also need to have a strong initiative and personal drive to help continuously improve the operating area. They will need to work well with their team to ensure tasks are completed in a safe and timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Models Celanese expectations and actively respects PPE and safety rules of the area.
- Understands basic computer skills; able to enter work notifications, able to upload shipment information into SAP, reports safety hazards/incidents, and able to communicate via email.
- Maintains the grounds of the WWTP; respects the routine duties calendar and conducts routine rounds of the plant.
- Supports maintenance and other work groups; EIPs equipment, issues Safe Work Permits, and performs minor maintenance activities.
- Assists and eventually leads troubleshooting of abnormal operations.
- Operates field equipment; valves, pumps, etc.
- Collects and performs sample analysis.
- Generates ideas for continuous improvement.
- Communicates well with leadership and team members; uses radio well and delivers clear and concise turnovers.
Qualifications:
- Ability to use senses (smell, sight , touch, sound) to understand conditions in the work area.
- Ability to life and move 50 pounds.
- Ability to become forklift certified.
- Ability to become DOT certified.
- Ability to take yearly physical examinations.
- Ability to study and take written WWTP certification exams.
- HS Diploma or Equivalent is required.
- Ability to work 2nd shift (1pm-9pm M-F)
