Maintenance Technician
Shift: Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. or 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Pay: $25-28 DOE
Job Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain machinery, equipment, and facility structures, including piping and electrical systems.
- Assist in developing and adhering to preventative maintenance programs.
- Manage and oversee the bidding process for construction projects and material needs as required.
- Supervise and coordinate external contractors working on plant projects.
- Troubleshoot and disassemble malfunctioning machines and equipment, replacing or installing necessary parts.
- Ensure smooth operation by cleaning and lubricating machine components such as bearings, gears, and shafts.
- Set up, install, and maintain piping systems, along with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; replace or repair gauges, valves, and pressure regulators as needed.
- Conduct minor facility repairs to maintain the physical structure.
- Construct and repair wooden fixtures, including counters, benches, and partitions.
- Follow all safety regulations, equipment operating procedures, and environmental guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred.
- At least two years of relevant experience or training.
- A combination of education and hands-on experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems commonly used in manufacturing, particularly in printing and converting equipment.
- Familiarity with forklifts, clamp trucks, and packaging machinery.
- Proficiency in using maintenance and repair tools.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Solid math, mechanical, and measurement skills.
- Effective communication and organizational abilities.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to read and follow detailed instructions and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
- Willingness to work required shifts, including weekends.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance.
- Stand and walk for extended periods; frequently reach with hands.
- Occasionally sit, climb, crawl, crouch, kneel, or stoop.
- Must have strong visual abilities, including close and distance vision, color distinction, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
