Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Develop and update import/export policies and guidelines as needed.
- Evaluate product specifications based on import/export regulations, work with Global Trade Compliance to classify items, and identify any special instructions or requirements to employees and customers.
- Oversee site import and export transactions to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with customs brokers and forwarders to address regulatory issues.
- Oversee the site's CTPAT supply chain security program.
- Draft and implement Technology Control Plans (TCP) and ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the TCP.
- Conducts education programs and performs due diligence to ensure compliance with US regulations.
- Responsible for process development, re-engineering, implementation, and training relating to operational improvements or legislation changes related to area of responsibility.
- Assesses feasibility of programs with implementation requirements, establishes rollout plan and initiates program execution.
- Interfaces with various levels of Celestica management to ensure processes are in place and working such that we maintain compliance with import/export processes.
- Excellent knowledge of the electronics manufacturing environment, telecommunications and aerospace and defense industries.
- Knowledge of US import process and US Customs rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of the EAR and ITAR with experience submitting and managing license conditions.
- Ability to identify and resolve high complexity process/system problems using financial, analytical, and/or statistical models.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Knowledge of basic computer applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and multiple business applications.
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Strong knowledge of US Customs regulations.
- Strong HTS classification skills.
- Strong knowledge of the ITAR and EAR regulations.
- Implementing and managing Internal Compliance and Technology Control Programs.
- Experience with SAP Global Trade Services Module preferred.
- Six to eight years of relevant experience. Customs Broker License preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experiency.
