The Baker/Dietary Aide plays a crucial role in ensuring that our residents receive nutritious and appetizing meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for the food industry, particularly those with experience in catering, kitchen operations, or culinary arts.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established menus and dietary requirements.
- Ensure that all food handling practices comply with safety and sanitation regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes and utensils.
- Support chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation tasks, including baking and cooking as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents during meal service, addressing any dietary preferences or concerns.
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking supplies and reporting shortages to supervisors.
- Participate in training sessions related to food safety, dietary needs, and kitchen operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry, catering, or a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to cooking, baking, and food handling.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
