The role...


We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Product Manager to oversee the strategic direction, operational management, and lifecycle planning of our well-established reagent antibody portfolio. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Strategic Marketing, this role is pivotal in crafting strategies and roadmaps to optimize the product mix, meet customer needs, and maximize value in the rapidly evolving life sciences market. In this role, you will manage the composition of the current antibody collection, expand its applications, introduce supporting and workflow products, and contribute to company-wide initiatives such as enhancing product taxonomy.


As a key member of a highly collaborative team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams—including R&D, BD, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Support—to ensure the portfolio aligns with market needs and delivers value to researchers worldwide. The Product Manager will develop a deep understanding of our product offerings, customer use cases, pain points, and the competitive landscape. Acting as the internal voice of the customer (VOC), you will define product requirements that guide development efforts and shape portfolio strategies. Additionally, you will collaborate with Marketing and Sales to equip commercial teams with the tools and knowledge needed to successfully execute go-to-market plans for the portfolio.

Portfolio Management and Strategy

  • Develop and maintain a strategic vision and roadmap for the composition of the reagent portfolio ensuring alignment with company goals, market opportunities, and customer needs.

  • Balance the breadth of the portfolio by offering a wide range of targets while ensuring depth in key areas including cell biology (cancer), neurobiology & immunology.

  • Manage the existing reagent antibody portfolio, ensuring it remains competitive, high-quality, and relevant to market demands.

  • Conduct gap analyses, competitive positioning, and market research to identify missing targets, novel biomarkers, underserved applications, gaps in product categories and opportunities for new product concepts.


Portfolio Expansion and Development

  • Identify and prioritize expansion of key application areas (eg. IHC, Flow Cytometry, ELISA etc.) for the reagent antibody portfolio based on customer insights, market trends, and competitive analysis.

  • Collaborate with R&D teams to guide the development of high value targets and workflow solutions, ensuring they meet technical specifications and address customer pain points.

  • Lead initiatives to integrate complementary products, such as reagents, kits, and supporting technologies, to enhance broader workflows and support experimental use cases.


Product Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee the lifecycle of products from concept to launch to obsolescence, ensuring relevance, profitability, and alignment with market needs.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and recommend enhancements, cost optimizations, or product discontinuations based on data-driven insights.


Go-to-Market Strategy and Support

  • Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies, including positioning, pricing, promotional plans, and product launches.

  • Price products using a value based approach using performance, unique features, and competitive positioning and tailor pricing strategies for different regions based on market dynamics and purchasing power.

  • Create bundled offers for antibodies and complementary products to drive sales.

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to create impactful collateral, such as brochures, web content, application notes, and product datasheets to support awareness and lead generation.

  • Provide training and tools to enable sales teams to effectively promote and sell reagent products.

  • Optimize product listings on websites and marketplaces, focusing on searchability and customer-friendly interfaces.


Customer Insights and Engagement

  • Engage directly with customers, including researchers and industry professionals, to understand their workflows, pain points, and requirements.

  • Use customer feedback and analytics to refine product strategies and ensure the portfolio addresses evolving needs.

  • Identify challenges customers face, such as specificity, lot-to-lot variability, or poor performance in certain workflows.


Cross-Functional Collaboration and Company Initiatives

  • Work closely with R&D, BD, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Support teams to ensure the portfolio delivers value and meets market demands.

  • Contribute to company-wide projects, such as product taxonomy enhancements, to improve product organization for internal processes and to enhance the customer experience.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies including recombinant antibodies, single-domain antibodies, and AI-driven antibody development.


Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sales growth, market share, and customer satisfaction.

  • Provide regular updates to senior management on product performance, market dynamics, and strategic initiatives.

  • Monitor competing offerings, pricing strategies, and market positioning to differentiate your portfolio.


Who you are and what you bring to the team...


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science field (e.g., biology, biochemistry, immunology); advanced degree (e.g., MSc, PhD, MBA) preferred.

  • 4 years of experience in product management within the life sciences industry.

  • Expertise in reagent antibodies or related products is highly preferred, including experience in their commercialization and applications.

  • Demonstrated experience managing a broad portfolio of reagent based products.


Skills and Competencies

  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of reagent antibodies and their applications in cell biology, genomics, proteomics, and related fields.

  • Market Awareness: Strong knowledge of customer needs, industry trends, and competitor offerings within the life sciences sector.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to prioritize initiatives and make decisions that align with long-term company goals and market opportunities.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams (including R&D, Sales, Marketing, and Operations) and influence decision making.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent ability to convey technical information clearly to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Project Management: Proven track record of managing multiple projects, timelines, and deliverables efficiently.

  • Analytical Skills: Expertise in market research, financial analysis, and interpreting performance metrics to guide data-driven decisions.

  • Software Proficiency: Experience with relevant tools, such as CRM systems, ERP platforms, and data visualization software.
