The role...

The Research Associate I works as part of the Production Team to support production, management, and characterization of a variety of products including off the shelf antibodies, custom antibodies, companion products, and assay kits. This is an entry-level position responsible for a wide variety of activities including bench work (75%) and coordination of product or custom order related activities (25%).

You'll have the opportunity to...

• Work closely with team members to produce and validate new direct conjugated antibody product lots for off the shelf products or to support custom products by performing scientific experiments including but not limited to bioconjugation of antibodies, flow cytometry, western blotting, immunoprecipitation, ELISA experiments and cellular assays with direct supervision  


• Understand and follow standard operating protocols and laboratory practices designed to enable efficient processes on a consistent basis to produce reliable data  


• Produce and record data that is clear and interpretable based on customer needs.  


• Communicate and support the coordination of a variety of product related activities with various internal departments which may include:

        - Sales teams for custom orders 

        - Clinical Applications teams for sample submissions 

        - Production teams for custom order processing 

        - Filling and Assembly to coordinate packaging and product filling needs

        - Shipping and Receiving for product transfers o Buffer prep team to manage internal use buffers

• Recognize and maintain accurate and complete laboratory documentation in accordance with CST policy, including hard copy notebooks

Who you are and what you bring to the team...

• Bachelor's degree in a biological science (e.g. molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry or biotechnology)  


• General and fundamental understanding of biological processes  


• Understanding of basic experimental design


• Strong attention to detail  


• Experience working on a highly collaborative team  


• Ability to work on a diverse product line with close guidance on priorities  


• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills  


• Computer proficiency including working knowledge of MS Office Suite, and Google Workspace or related applications

Ideally, you have...

• Willingness to learn new techniques  


• Ability to learn new concepts and apply them to work with assistance
