- Mon - Fri schedule rotating weekends

SPT Duties
- Decontamination of Medical Equipment: The technician is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and decontaminating used medical instruments and devices, often in a designated cleaning area or with automated machines. This includes removing all organic material and bodily fluids from instruments.
- Sterilization: After cleaning, the technician sterilizes instruments using various methods, such as autoclaving (steam sterilization), gas sterilization, or chemical disinfection, depending on the material of the instruments. They ensure proper procedures and safety standards are followed.
- Inspection and Testing: The technician inspects medical instruments for any damage, wear, or malfunction. They also perform quality control checks to ensure the sterilization process was successful and instruments are safe for use in surgeries.
- Assembly of Instrument Sets: They assemble surgical instrument sets, ensuring each set contains the necessary tools, is organized, and meets the required standards. This step is crucial for the smooth operation of surgical procedures.
- Inventory Management: SPTs are responsible for managing the inventory of surgical instruments and supplies. This involves tracking the usage and ensuring there is enough stock to meet the needs of the hospital. They may also be tasked with restocking and maintaining proper organization of supplies.
- Record Keeping: Keeping detailed records of all sterilization processes, equipment maintenance, and inventory is vital for compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards. This also helps in tracing the history of equipment in case of any complications during procedures.
- Other job duties as assigned
SPT Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited educational institution
- Licensed as a Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) by the State in which the position is located. The license MUST be in good standing
- 2 years of relevant SPT experience
- Strong decontamination, assembly, and sterilization experience
- Must be comfortable with general, orthopedic, robotic, CV, vascular, ENT and implant sets
