What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician position at Cell Tech Inc?
Who are we?
Cell Tech Inc. is one of the largest service providers for the K-12 sector in the US. Our commitment to innovation drives us to develop cutting-edge solutions that empower our clients. To achieve this, we build and utilize proprietary software focused on automation and user-friendliness. As our company grows, so does our development team!
Job Summary
As a Computer Technician, you will have an essential role within the company. You will ensure that our clients' devices leave the workshop in better condition than when they came in. You will be responsible for diagnosing hardware and software issues, processing work orders according to warranty and non-warranty guidelines, repairing devices, and assuring quality service at our workshop.
Job Duties (Repair Technician):
- Identify and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in computers and related devices.
- Repair or replace faulty hardware components, such as screens, housing, and system boards.
- Resolve software-related problems, including operating system errors, software conflicts, and application issues.
- Follow established procedures and guidelines, especially when handling warranty repairs or compliance requirements.
- Ensure the quality and functionality of repaired computers through testing and quality control checks.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, documenting the nature of the issue, steps taken for resolution, and any replaced components.
- Strike a balance between speed and accuracy in performing repairs, ensuring efficient yet precise resolutions.
Benefits
- Career Growth: As an authorized service provider of Lenovo, Cell Tech employees complete Lenovo training and certification courses. Our employees agree this is an essential first step in seeking CompTIA certifications. We also work with Acer, Dell, HP, and Apple products.
- We offer competitive Health Insurance plans.
- In-Shop: this position offers in-shop IT services rather than field work.
- Limited customer interaction: most technicians operate exclusively within our facility and are not customer-facing. That means they can focus on their work without interruption and exclusively interact with peers who are knowledgeable and experienced in the craft.
- Flexible Schedule: Because we work primarily with schools, our work slows down during school breaks. If you need time off work during summer, we can accommodate that.
- Overtime Opportunities: During the time that school is in session, optional overtime opportunities are offered based on customer needs.
- Paid Holidays: Cell Tech employees enjoy 6 paid holidays a year, after their 3 month probationary period.
- PTO: Full-time employees are eligible for one week of PTO a year, after their first year.
