AUDIO VISUAL TECHNICAL MANAGER

Compensation Range: $35 - 41 per hour

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Audio Visual Technical Manager to oversee the technical aspects of live event and digital production for our meetings and events business. This individual will act as the subject matter expert (SME) for all AV-related components of live corporate meetings and events, ensuring seamless execution of video, audio, and streaming technologies. Reporting to the Manager of Meetings, Events & Video Production, the AV Technical Manager will be responsible for managing equipment, coordinating technical logistics, and overseeing the performance of internal staff and contractors. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and crisis management abilities to ensure successful event execution.

Responsibilities:
Subject Matter Expertise:

• Serve as the resident expert for all aspects of meeting, event, and video production, with a focus on AV integration, live streaming, and digital production technology.
• Consult daily with Account Managers, Project Managers, and suppliers to ensure accurate scoping, proper RFP estimates, and scheduling requirements.
• Lead and mentor AV Technicians, including both staff and contractors, ensuring quality standards are met.

Project Coordination and Management:

• Oversee and facilitate the pre-production, on-site execution, and post-production of live corporate meetings and events, with particular focus on AV elements.
• Provide daily feedback regarding project status, needs, and issues to internal teams and ensure timely and effective communication across all stakeholders.
• Supervise AV Technicians to ensure they deliver high-quality technical services for all events, both on-site and remotely.

Crisis Management and Problem Solving:

• Effectively manage production problems during set-up, live events, and off-hours, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
• Utilize strong communication skills to navigate high-pressure situations and maintain professionalism with clients and internal stakeholders.

Equipment Management and Maintenance:

• Ensure all AV equipment is maintained, repaired, and replaced as needed.
• Coordinate purchases of AV equipment and contribute to facility build-out and upgrades from a technical perspective.
• Enforce safety codes for all meeting rooms and venues, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Reporting and Utilization Tracking:

• Maintain accurate records of time worked and ensure established utilization targets are met for the department.
• Track progress of ongoing projects, ensuring that objectives are met while maintaining effective communication with all teams involved.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Interaction:

• Act as a liaison between internal teams (including Executive Leadership, R&D Senior Staff) and external suppliers or clients.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and be proactive in providing innovative solutions for AV production needs.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10-15 years of hands-on experience in AV integration, live corporate event production, and digital video streaming.
• 5 years of experience in a managerial or leadership capacity, overseeing AV production teams or large-scale events.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Significant hands-on experience with pre-production and onsite execution of live web-based video streaming events.
• Familiarity with both hardware and software tools for audio, video, and streaming technologies.
