Overview
Celldex is looking for a dynamic individual with extensive experience in immunology and antibody development to oversee and actively contribute to projects focused on antibody discovery and characterization. This role combines management responsibilities with hands-on lab work ensuring the successful execution of research goals.
Responsibilities
- Execute on all aspects of antibody discovery and characterization
- Identify needs for specific projects and programs and manage development and execution
- Work closely with other teams to develop overall plans for new products
- Identify any issues that may delay product or project and recommend appropriate action
- Select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
- Manage direct reports
Qualifications
- A strong understanding of immunology, protein purification, and immunological assays
- Proficient at flow cytometry, hybridoma development, and antibody characterization methods including ELISA, proliferation, cytokine release, etc.
- Proficient with standard software for analysis and presentation of data
- Effective management skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education/Experience:
- S./M.S. degree in biology or a similar discipline with 10 years of related experience; or a Ph.D. degree in microbiology with 5 years of related experience
- Experience with the project management aspects of product development such as timelines, milestones, and validation
- Experience in a supervisory/managerial role
