Overview
Celldex Therapeutics is looking for an experienced Scientist or early career Senior Scientist, specializing in the immunotherapy space, to join our Pre-Clinical Research and Development group. The Scientist/Senior Scientist will contribute technical expertise and scientific knowledge towards the development of antibody therapeutics. The successful candidate will be an experienced and motivated laboratory researcher and will have the opportunity to work independently and collaboratively in the discovery and testing of novel biologics for patients with serious medical conditions.
Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility will be supporting the company’s research efforts using basic molecular biology and gene cloning methodologies, including RNA isolation, PCR, cDNA sequencing, vector and primer design, DNA and protein sequence analysis.
- Recombinant protein expression including mammalian cell culture, transient transfection, protein purification and characterization.
- May also include designing, performing, and analyzing in vitro experiments (ELISA, etc.) to address scientific or technical questions. Develop new methods or assays as needed.
- Communicate results effectively directly to supervisor or in a group setting.
- Perform other additional job-related duties as required.
Qualifications
- BA/BS or MS in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or related field with 2 years of related experience.
- A strong understanding and experience with molecular biology techniques, and the use of molecular cloning software programs such as SnapGene.
- Experience in antibody and protein expression and purification is preferred.
- A background in immuno-oncology, inflammation, and cell biology, including associated in vitro assays, is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills required, as is excellent attention to details.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
