Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and mathematically inclined professional to join our team as a Reporting and Accounting Analyst. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing and approving financial and operational reports, ensuring accuracy in data and calculations. This role requires a strong understanding of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, algebraic formulas, and invoice review. Proficiency in Excel is essential, and experience in the recycling industry is a plus. Additionally, this position involves accounts payable (AP) tasks, accounts receivable (AR) tasks including entering debits and credits where necessary, and training on new software to upload data into reporting portals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve financial and operational reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze and interpret P&L statements to identify discrepancies and trends.
- Utilize algebraic formulas to verify and validate data integrity.
- Examine invoices and other financial documents for correctness.
- Ensure data accuracy in reports and troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Maintain and update Excel spreadsheets with formulas and data sets.
- Assist in accounts payable tasks, including invoice processing and reconciliation.
- Perform accounts receivable tasks, including entering debits and credits where necessary and identifying discrepancies in receivables.
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies in accounts receivable.
- Learn and implement new software systems to upload and manage data in reporting portals.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure seamless reporting processes.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and data manipulation.
- Experience with P&L statements and financial reporting.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing numerical data.
- Ability to learn new software quickly and effectively.
- Prior experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable is an advantage.
- Recycling industry experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
