Cellone’s bakes fresh Italian breads and rolls at our 110,000 sq ft commercial bakery in Pittsburgh, PA. The same family that operates the business today founded Cellone’s in 1911. Cellone’s delivers to schools, restaurants, cafeterias and grocery stores in the tri-state area. Our bakers produce around 6,000 loaves of bread an hour.
Job Description
The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining efficient operation of equipment within the facility and overseeing all building maintenance repairs and grounds upkeep. The Senior Maintenance Technician oversees and repairs equipment and all maintenance functions. Maintaining operations includes organizing and completing routine preventive maintenance on all equipment, overseeing and guiding daily checks on equipment settings, and ensuring repairs are made in a safe and efficient manner.

Candidates must be willing to work training period shifts and/or rotating shifts for this position
- Training period shifts to include: 2 weeks -2 months of 1st 2nd or 3rd shift before being placed on a permanent shift
Pay and Benefits
- Pay ___/hour $1.50 night shift premium, commensurate with experience

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Repair and perform preventive maintenance on machinery.
- Use mechanical and electrical equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, refrigeration systems, scissor lift.
- Visually inspect and test machinery and powered equipment using electronic testing equipment and hand tools.
- Listen and observe the operation of machines and equipment to detect malfunctions and diagnose problems.
- Install, program and repair automated machinery and equipment.
- Design and fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and tools, improving existing efficiencies.
- Maintain and repair plant building and grounds.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other machine parts using a pressure washer, brushes, grease gun and gear lubricant dispenser.
- Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
- Operate cutting torches and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Maintain a safe, clean, work area.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, wire schematics and technical manuals.
- Maintain detailed summary sheets of tasks performed regarding preventive maintenance, diagnoses of problems and repairs performed on equipment.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as needed and assigned.
- Safely install, maintain, upgrade 3-phase motor control systems, and AC/DC circuits.
- Plan, layout and perform all required operations to install, maintain and repair a wide variety of plant equipment and accessories.
- Adhering to safety procedures and policies and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
- Must adhere to good manufacturing practices while working on production/food processing equipment.
- Maintaining work area and the tools and equipment provided.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School or GED required
- At least 2 years of trade school or equivalent experience in industrial mechanical or electrical is required
- 3 years’ experience in a fast paced, production-oriented environment, experience may include a combination of work experience and education
- 4 years’ experience in one of the following fields: food industry, packaging, manufacturing, conveyor systems, automation systems
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing others on the functionality and repair of equipment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments and levels of the organization
- Skilled in fabrication capabilities such as cutting and welding (mig, tig or stick)
- Skilled working with electrical systems including 480VAC, 240 VAC, 120VAC, 24VAC and 24VDC power
- Experience replacing and programming VFD’s, servo motors and controllers, PLC input/output cards and safety modules
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Effective communication of issues and solutions to cross-functional team members
- Skilled in the use of shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill and lathe and assorted power tools
- Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer within the plant
