Position Summary
Under the direction of the Production Superintendent, the Control Room Operator uses computers and sophisticated instrumentation to monitor and adjust the system, including efficient operations of the cement manufacturing process.
Requirements
Operate equipment including, but not limited to the Roller Mills, Kilns, Coolers and Finish MillsMonitor all equipment in the plant, such as temperatures, pressures and amp gauges interpreting gauges, charts and instruments to adjust as necessaryCoordinate activities of operating personnel. Has the authority to assign routine and non-routine workAnswer incoming calls in a professional and courteous manner and direct calls as neededWork in cooperation with Lab personnel in the effort to produce quality products. This may include cross training and running samples with Lab personnel to effectively learn the chemistry of clinker and cement products and by-productsAccountable for personnel and equipment safety, production rates, emissions and other process variables as assignedMaintain accurate records of the kilns and their auxiliary equipmentMust clear ATF certification for handling explosivesPerform other tasks as assigned by Production SuperintendentMust not be afraid of heights.During outages, the candidate will be assigned tasks out in the field.The role may require working additional hours and covering PTO days for other crews as needed.Flexibility to switch crews based on business needs is required.Preferred Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent.Must have minimum 2 years of experience in cement production and thorough knowledge of the kiln processKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
